The third student trip began in earnest in the fall of 2001 with the selection of 12 senior students, all 4th year Spanish student, and 4 adults. The student group saw Jen Kilker, Jess Sitzmann, Drew Bickford, Aimie Kass, Jen Kolbeck, Emily Puhl, Crystal Kellen, Lindsey Langel, Jon Pitts, Becka Neary, Natalie Schroeder, and Amy Anthony, along with the four adult chaperones, Geralynn Fjeldheim, Anne Puterbaugh, Cecilia Henrich, and Tom Henrich, travel to El Guante, Honduras. They left March 22nd and returned late Saturday evening March 30. While in Honduras they experienced the wonderful celebrations of Easter with the poor of El Guante and the surrounding area. They mixed cement on the ground, the Honduran way, and put a new concrete floor in the home of an elderly woman who to that point had nothing but dirt floors. The team, like the student team from 2001, assisted the Sisters with numerous other Easter time church activities and actually participated in a number of their liturgies. Like all other trips before them this group left all the personal things they had taken and basically came home with the shirts on their back. This group took 2,400 pounds of clothes, shoes, medicines, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and toys to the people of Honduras. To a person, each maintains their lives have been changed forever. God Bless The Mission Team Of March, 2002, and God Bless The Poor Of The World.
